A Southern State of Mind

I have been reading several posts about things in the South food, hair and just all things Southern.  I love all things of the South.
I enjoyed reading all these posts, but one thing I always find to be interesting is what different people consider the South.  I know all people's views are different on this.  For one some people don't consider Texas and Oklahoma the South.  I do.  I have traveled all over and I don't see where the two states would fit in other than in the "South".  I actually at times find these two states more "southern" than some of the other states that are always considered the "south".
I found this on Pinterest and well ain't that the truth.  Southern: a state of mind.
 southern southern southern

Anyway while I am at it I might as well share a few of my favorite Southern Sayin's:
Don’t pee down my back and tell me it’s raining!
Well butter my butt and call me a bicuit!
Actin' a little big for your britches.

If you love the South as well check out  A Blonde Ambition blog she is posting about Celebrating Southern.

Huh? What are you thinking?

I was reading a post from PPC about popular things she just doesn't understand. I was thinking there are so many trends and what not that I am always thinking WTF?! I just don't get it?  Why do so many people love this?  So I am sharing some of my WTF products/fads today.

Vera Bradley.  Now don't get all butt hurt if you are a Vera lover, I just don't get the trend, it's just not me. I prefer to carry Coach luggage and purses, it's just more my style.  I'm sure there are some items/prints I would find cute, but overall when I see it I have always just thought Grandma.  They always remind me of a quilt or something.

(Creepy.)
SNUGGIES.  Whaaattt so you have a fleece blanket with two holes for arms? Dumb. It is like an oversized fleece hospital gown. I don't even really care for fleece blankets, but Im kinda particular when it comes to my blankets. I tote a down comforter everywhere stay and can't sleep without, but thats just me.  The commercial showing people sporting snuggies everywhere actually grosses me out.  I see it all dragging on the ground and stuff and think of all the germs that are on it from wearing it everywhere. No thanks.

CROCS.  Never okay. Thats all I need to say.

(Ewww.)
Chacos.  I just cringe when I see these sandals on someones feet.  Friends of mine that own these are not allowed to wear them when they are around me.  There is nothing cute about them and that is all I have to say about that.

(Girrllll should get down she is going to hurt herself.)
Planking.  So dumb.  I think whoever started this "trend" of what they call "planking" anywhere and everywhere must not have ever worked out.  I don't know about y'all but when I was in gymnastics this position was called a superman and planking is a different position.  Whatevs you won't catch me "planking" anywhere unless it is in a gym and we all know what the chances  of that happening are.

Maybe I am just jelly that I didn't invent some of these stupid things and make cajillions of dollars off of them but its whatever. That is all the dumb things I am sharing for today. Have a great weekend y'all!

Link-Up time.

"Its Ok"

Its okay that its been a while since I have done the "Its Ok" Thursday Link-Up.

That I am obsessed with Tervis tumblers and only want to drink out of them and nothing else.

That even though I LOVE my new car, I get a sense of comfort when I see my old Kitty parked in the driveway when I get home. What? I have different attachments than others.

That Mama C thinks I have an online shopping addiction because I have a new package arrive in the mail everyday.  They are always things I need of course.

That I am finally about to switch services and get an Iphone.  I am just about a decade late on this one, no biggie.

That I found this on Pinterest and it couldn't describe my life any better right now and I don't hate it.

Fast Cars and Freedom...

Our poor blog has been neglected lately!  Things have been crazy busy, one minute it's May and the next thing you know the fourth of July has come and gone and you haven't blogged in forever! I have been keeping up with other blogs, have had zero time to blog myself.

G and I have gotten new cars since we last posted.  G was looking for a new car for a little while and had decided she would try to sell her car before purchasing a new one. She had gotten a little lazy about getting it sold, until I decided I would get a new car.  This talk of me getting a new car must have lit a fire in her because what do you know when we went car shopping for Moi, who found a car as soon as we pulled into the dealership? G did! 4 hours later she left with a new car, by this point the dealership I wanted to go to was closed.
 (G's New Escape)

The same thing happened when I was turning 16, car shopping for me turned into G ordering herself a new truck.  I ended up getting my new car a week later then and the same thing happened this time as well.  Maybe it's  like when we were younger and it would be G's birthday and I would have to get a present to open too.  In the end I was glad I waited.  I have named my new addition Benny.
(Meet Benny)

I can't believe the 4th of July has came and went already! This summer is flying by.  The 4th of July is my favorite holiday other than Christmas of course.  This was the first year I didn't have any plans, the 4th just seemed to fall at an odd time this year right in the middle of the week.  Our family gets together every year for the 4th, but this year we didn't since it was on a Wednesday and the previous weekend most people were out of town and the weekend after just wouldn't work out so we all just did our own things. Even though I didn't really do much I still enjoyed having the day off and shooting fireworks off at night with my pretend neice, G's God-daughter.  She is 5, a diva and so much fun. Some of my fourth of July pics below.

Hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th! I am so thankful and proud to live in such a great nation.
